Survival mode

When the power goes out, you'll know what to do next.

Press one button and Bornal turns your cupboard into a daily routine: what everyone eats at each meal, how much water you can use, and how much light you'll need tonight – more in winter, less in summer.

  • Asks how you can cook. Mains, a camping stove and its gas canisters, a power station and kettle, or nothing at all – and plans meals that fit.
  • Uses the oldest food first and stretches it to last the whole plan if needed. Drinking water is never cut back.
  • Confirm the day. Mark what you didn't use and your kit updates itself – with Undo.

Grab bag

Out of the door in minutes – with nothing forgotten.

Bornal knows what's already in the grab bag and what isn't. It tells you exactly what else to grab and where it's kept, then the last things to do before you shut the door.

Planning ahead? Tap Move to bag and next time there's less to find. Ticks are shared with your family, so everyone packs from the same list.

Your car is there too: MOT, tax and insurance dates, breakdown cover with a call button, and a checklist for driving in Europe.

The thoughtful details that make it work.

Bring in the list you have

Import from Excel, Word, PDF or CSV – or paste a list. Bornal reads names, amounts and best-before dates, and you check everything before it's added.

A paper copy for the kit

Print your family plan, get-away checklist, inventory, embassy list and survival plan – because phones run out of battery.

Reminders that matter

Food and medicine before they expire, MOT and insurance, passport renewals six months ahead – as notifications or in your calendar.

Power and light planner

See how long your power station runs what you need, with and without sun, and how long torches and candles last through the dark hours.

Embassies and helplines

Emergency numbers, 24/7 consular lines and embassy contacts across Europe for the passports in your family.

Scan, don’t type

Scan a tin’s barcode and Bornal fills in the name, weight and calories, then reads the best-before date with the camera. A whole cupboard takes minutes. No barcode? It reads the label instead – only ever labels and lists, never your documents.

Four countries, four languages

Made for the UK, Portugal, Spain and France, in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French – with each country's emergency numbers, official advice and car paperwork.

Your data, yours to take

Export your inventory as a spreadsheet (CSV) or as a full backup (JSON) at any time, to keep, share or bring into another app.

Ready in an evening.

1

Add what you have

Type it in, pick from known products, or import a list. Set where things are kept – the grab bag, the cupboard under the stairs.

2

See what's missing

How long it lasts, what's expiring and a shopping list sized for your household – adults, children and pets.

3

Follow the plan when it matters

Survival mode for staying at home, the Grab bag for leaving fast – clear steps when you're least able to think.

Try everything free for 7 days.

Set up your whole kit during the trial – import the list you already have and you can be done in an evening. Then a plan keeps it up to date and ready to use: food and batteries expire, things get used, and the plan for the day itself needs to know. Planned launch prices:

One purchase covers your family through Family Sharing. Barcode scanning is unlimited; label reading – the backup for products without a barcode or not yet in the database – is included in every plan with a generous fair-use allowance.

Always free, even without a plan

The things that keep people safe are never locked away.

  • Emergency numbers, contacts and your family plan
  • Your documents, behind Face ID
  • A view of your inventory, as you left it – and printing or exporting it
  • The “before you shut the door” list
  • Deleting your data, at any time

With a plan

Everything that keeps your kit current and gets you through the day itself.

  • Adding, updating and using items, and adding documents
  • Expiry reminders, notifications and the calendar
  • Survival mode any time, and the smart get-away list
  • How long it lasts, the shopping list and the power planner
  • Importing, scanning and sharing with your family

Never locked out in an emergency. If your plan has ended when something happens, Survival mode opens free for 72 hours, once a year – no questions asked.
